Silly buggers

Arrived in Pongola for our stay at the Mvubu River Lodge in soaking smirry rain.

Didn't fancy getting soaked on a game drive so we headed to the deck of our room to watch a massive heard of elephant cross the river and climb a rather steep embankment.

The river is normally a half a kilometer wide but is currently a sad trickle instead. Another indication of how bad the drought is up here.

No drought on the deck though which maybe accounts for the silly faces. Happy days.
