December surprises
No struggle for subject matter today. A stroll around the garden revealed plenty of plants in flower, including this lovely Quince. A good thing, as it's a busy day - meeting of the Buckinghamshire Natural Environment Partnership Biodiversity Group followed by my talk to the local Wildlife Trust group on butterflies in the Chilterns and the Caucasus this evening. Excitement didn't stop at the vivid red quince flowers - on looking inside the lower flower I found a caterpillar happily sheltering from the rain (see extra photo - a moth species, but not sure which).
