Sparkler Art

A long-shutter, sparklers and some adventurous artists... and this is what you get! I had told BJ that I wanted to try this sometime - the kids overheard our conversation and of course, there was no time like the present.

We pulled out sparklers that were over a year old, blew the dust off of them and lit them up. Kaylee was very hesitant at first - it is a flammable stick after all and I'm asking her to hold it in her hand and trust that it's safe (hmmm, when I write it down - it seems dangerous). Colby, of course, took off waving his lit sparkler in the air.

Today's blip is merely one of many captures of the evening... we have smiley faces, swirls, letters and streaks. I'm excited to try it again on the 4th - perhaps with adult "artists" we may be successful with advanced art. Mom, Dad, Sandy & Mike are planning on coming out to enjoy some pyrotechnics - we'll see what transpires with the sparkler art that evening.
