Mariposa Lily

Today was a beautiful day for a hike. I counted at least 15 different types of wildflowers. One of my favorites is the Mariposa Lily. The word mariposa means butterfly in Spanish. These beautiful flowers are found in the Sandia Mountains at elevations above 7,000 feet.
