Elephants!!!
The day I've been waiting for has arrived! I got to ride an elephant! I learned that if you are born to a certain tribe, as a gift you get a baby elephant to grow up with. I've never been so jealous in my life! There are two main types of elephants, the elephants in Thailand and the African elephant. The Thailand elephants don't have as big of ears and they are more intelligent and you can train them. The African ones are bigger in size and have bigger ears and they are not as intelligent. We didn't only ride elephants that day, we learned about ancient Thai culture and traditions as well. We learned how they harvested sap from a rubber tree. They would make marks on the tree and it would drip down and they would collect it. We touched some and it was the same as glue. They later showed us how they could make tires from that. Next we learned the ingredients they put into curry. Then, we learned how they make coconut milk and oil and we even tried some of the juice inside. Then we tasted their coffee and tea. Their
coffee-- is the best coffee in the world. I've never tasted anything like it. Their secret is of course harvesting it there, but it is also to add sweetened condensed milk! Later we learned about rice and got to ride a water buffalo! Today was a fun and educational day!
