LEGOS for Ai Weiwei
Much too much today…lot’s of walking - including by the Seattle Asian Art Museum,(see the extra) where there is a used BMW parked in front with a sign that says :
“the Asian Art Museum has become a supporter of a site specific project inspired by the LEGO Co.’s refusal to sell Chinese contemporary artist Ai Weiwei tiny toy bricks out of concern about the political nature of his work.
In résponse, art enthusiasts are donating legos to Weiwei by dropping them through the sunroof of second hand BMWs in front of art museums and cultural organizations around the world. Welcome to Seattle’s only collection point.”
One can add legos to this collection during museum hours.
There are very few legos in the car…. this one got left on the roof… not many kids are going to part with their legos… Ours are long gone.
Among other things today, it’s our day to pick up the girls. We stopped at the Henry Gallery to see the Pae White Command Shift 4 exhibit before coming here to make more cookies. I thought I could interest them in making Spritz cookies but they wanted more sugar cookies… so we made a second batch. (And discovered that instead of the edible markers for drawing on the cookies, which we didn’t have, that I learned fro Kranhu, , one could just use a little brush with diluted food coloring..) there are more photos but they’ll have to wait for tomorrow…and the grandsons are coming for their share of cookies… we saved some dough and I’m hoping they’ll make the spritz! Gotta rest up!
