In the back streets of many old towns, if you look above street level there are often fascinating signs of the past to be found.
These merchant's premises in Leeds have long since shut, and are slowly decaying. The two doors are on the first and second floors above street level. At one time, I imagine the old iron hoist would have been in regular use for the delivery and despatch of goods from H.G. Atkinsons Builders' Merchant.
