Miss Charlotte and the incident of the earplug

Miss C. had trouble sleeping due to the noisy trains, so she bought ear-plugs and slept happily ever after - until Monday. One of the ear plugs became stuck and wouldn't budge, no matter what she did. So Miss C went to A&E for a couple of hours. They poked about in her ear with a metal poking implement, but only got a few bits out. Toady she went to see the things-stuck-in-the-ear specialist. He said "Did you go to A&E and did they poke about in your ear with a metal poking implement". She said: "Yes". He said "They shouldn't have done that". But the ear plug remained stuck and the saga continues...
