Merry Christmas 2015!

I had to wake Katie at 7.45 this morning. Uncle Simon was arriving at 8 and expected Katie to be well into the present opening - she'd opened 1 by the time he got here! The highlight of her presents was the clarinet. It was wonderful to see her face, she got it straight out and is having a really good go at it already, she loves it! We managed to open a good lump of the presents before Church. She had a fantastic time - she was very keen to light one of the advent candles and was first to run to the front to show/talk about her favourite present. A rousing rendition of well chosen carols, a story by a wonderful storyteller, a thoughtful talk, hugs and chat with old friends.

We returned for more present opening, some carol playing on the keyboard by Katie, lots of nibbling of tasty treats before she went for an early afternoon nap. I woke her after the starter of Christmas dinner, she soon caught up. She enjoyed her main course and went to play with a new set of Steady Eddie toys that she absolutely loved (excellent choosing, Bean Family!) We couldn't tempt her to any of about 4 different dessert options. We finished dinner a little later than we usually do and it wasn't very long before it was time to get ready to go to my aunt's. Though it was longer than Katie would have liked and after some clarinet, she appeared at the lounge door in her coat, bags packed and strapped over her shoulders, shoes on her feet.

Once there, we had a fabulous time with party games, art competitions (which the smallest, cutest one won), music, singing (the 12 days of Christmas 2015 will go down in family legend due to Tom & James' maids a'milkin....) and lots of very delicious food. Katie and Maddie as always played beautifully. I put Katie to bed in the children's bedroom and she snuggled having stories with Grandad before I cuddled her to sleep. And went to take my place at the annual Newmarket marathon.

Merry Christmas Blipfolk!!!
