Near & Far

At 17 and 15 the children no longer wake at ridiculous o'clock so a more gentle start to the day at 09:00 with all 6' 1" of Joshua bouncing on the bed with our 'stockings' from downstairs.

A full English breakfast for some of us, modified for others. We had a quiet but enjoyable morning before Clare left for work at midday.

We had a baked ham for lunch, the turkey is for tomorrow when we are all home, and a selection of desserts.

With no more gifts to be opened until tomorrow it was a very relaxing day with films on TV, reading some downloaded books and generally taking it easy.

I spoke to, texted, 'What's Apped, or messaged most of my family at some point through the day and received this picture and others of my grand-daughters Chloe and Freya.

When Clare arrived we had a 'super size' buffet and a couple of beers to finish off a good day.
