Learning day by day

CATS

Everything went surprisingly smoothly this morning. We set off at 10.30 to Cockfosters, parked and were given a parking ticket by a couple who were just leaving. We walked past a huge queue for tickets with my Oyster card and straight onto a tube and were in Oxford Circus by 11.45.

Lunch was had at Pizza Express. We then headed for the Jellicle Ballroom to turn the children into Cats. By the time that was done we had 15mins before the start of the show to find our seat.

The kids loved it from start to finish, for different reasons, Carys the dancing, Will the music. We had a small issue with Will's legs tapping in time to the music on the chair in front, but that was sorted by my leg physically restraining his, within the first ten minutes and at the interval I apologised to all involved. At the end of the interval we then had a small altercation with a miserable old bag, who decided it was her job to try and scare Will into sitting still during the second half (he had sat still for all of the first half, bar the first ten minutes) as she was now sitting in front of him. I won't go it into it here, but she was horribly rude and had no empathy for a small boy who was absolutely loving the show and the music. Luckily the lady who was sat directly in front of him through out, stood up for him at the end of the show.

Both children want to see it again and Carys gave it great praise indeed saying it was just below the Lion King in her judgement!

We then headed off through Liberties, to Carnaby Street and on to Bond Street via Burlington Arcade, to see the lights we saw before Christmas, but this time in the dark. They were lovely.

Journey home was just as smooth as the one this morning. I will have two very tired children tomorrow, but I think it was worth it.
