Charity Swim

A few of us took to the water at Southend for charity today. It was for Essex Air Ambulance. No wetsuits allowed although one or two did wear them. It as rather cold to be honest.
I'm not a lover of the sea so it was extra challenging for me. I really do prefer lakes.
I stayed in far longer than I thought I would. In fact I was told I was last female out. Not bad for my first winter sea swim.
I have now joined the Redcaps which is an open water swim group who are based in Southend.
This year I want to swim in as many lakes as I can across the UK.
If anyone knows of local open water swims then please let me know about them.
