Ana's first Christmas
How amazing is being Santa? Squidge followed a trail of gold baubles from her bed into the hall to her stocking when she woke up. And she couldn't contain herself long enough to drag it into our bedroom to unwrap. There were squeals, jumping up and down, giggles and melodramatic hand on mouth actions. I loved every second.
We had also wrapped the lounge door up so she had to burst through to the tree and Santa's offerings. I'd gone nuts on presents and when we'd laid them all out on the floor the night before Angus had said it was too much.
We had pulled some back and left them on one side for another time. It turned out to be the right decision as she focused on what she had and wouldn't have known if one or three was the norm - she was so delighted with what she had!
Then we slowly made our way up to the farm, packing the car in-between playing with her toys. We drove all the way to Mum and Dad's only to discover Angus had forgotten to pack their pressies (he had to spend another 2 hours going back and forth to get them!)
I calmed down (eventually). Two glasses of Prosecco and a glass of Champagne helped :-)
The highlight (other than being waited on hand and foot all day - and I appreciate now what that takes!) was being with baby Ana for her for first family Christmas. She rocks. And she may just have said her first word while we were there. What was it? My daughters (and her cousin's) name of course. Amazing!!!!
