Christmas Day

Well dummygate threatened to ruin Christmas at one stage! Squidge shouted for over an hour last night, woke early this morning (it helps her sleep) and her face was covered in scratches where she'd clawed herself with stress.

But we persevered and luckily a happy Christmas morning filled with Santa's presents meant that we were able to distract her.

Angus went to so much trouble this year for us all. For Audrey he'd even used icing sugar to make a Santa snow footprint on the fireplace. His gifts were really thoughtful and generous and I dread to think what he has spent.

His parents arrived after 10.30am and we had nibbles and fizz before heading for lunch down the road. The food was amazing but the music was too loud for Angus's Grandpa which was a bit irritating as they wouldn't turn it down (well they pretended to but didn't really).

We got back in time for collective snoozes. Squidge's favourite toy is a new wooden doll's house from Angus's Mum and she played with it for hours. With no nap (the dummy helps her nap....arrghhhh) and having got up early, she expired by about 5pm though. So I was relieved when the in-laws headed home.

We've just spent the last few hours putting the house back together. And re-lax!

Merry Christmas all!!!!
