Rusty

After our previous visitors with Monia, their new 4-year-old Smooth Collie, Claire arrived today with her 12-week-old Irish Terrier. 
This dog was a very different experience. He ran around excitedly sniffing and biting everything in sight, experiencing the world with all his senses, and drawing a bit of blood with those puppy teeth!
After dinner we went for a long walk in the darkness wearing head-torches.  The stars were very bright but there were no northern lights and the moon was still under the horizon. It was around -10°C and everything is covered in hoar frost which looked beautiful and sounded crunchy as we walked.
After that Rusty was a little calmer, and as the evening went on he eventually fell asleep on the sheepskin you see in the picture.
Good company, good food and a puppy - a really good day.
