Today's the day ............................. for the bright city lights

Went to a wonderful exhibition in the Scottish National Gallery this afternoon featuring the paintings of Arthur Melville.

By the time we left, it was dark outside.  There were lots of people out and about - and the whole place was going like a funfair.  This wasn't surprising because Prince's Street Gardens seems to have turned into a funfair since I was last here.

There was a particularly horrific ride which involved sitting in a chair which was then raised up on high on a sort of pole.  Then the pole started spinning round - and the centrifugal force made the chairs go out even higher.  I've included a picture below taken from afar - the nearest I'm ever going to get to it .........................
