Time to go home

I took this at about 8 am when we were loading the car, for our return journey. The boys aren't allowed on furniture normally, but we made an exception for this window seat today, as we had put a cover on it, and it was easier to pack the car while the boys were tucked up happily out of the way. If you look through the window you can see the giant hydrangeas flowering in the garden.
The conditions on the drive were some of the worst I've ever known, and we arrived home about 4:30, after over 6 hours driving and a half hour stop for a break. I drove as C is waiting for an eye op, and it wouldn't be fair to ask him to drive on a long journey like that.
It was almost dark for the entire trip, with water and spray on the motorway making it quite horrible (not to mention the morons who had no lights on).
We're now home safe and sound, have eaten a Waitrose Thai dinner, and both have a nice glass of red wine.
I shall be off to bed any minute as I feel exhausted (it's not quite 8 pm).
