Last Leaves

The last and most delicate leaves of the season still cling to ocotillo branches, defying the wind.  Ocotillo leaves are about 1/2-inch long and paper-thin when they reach this point of purplish translucency, and although they are barely attached, they often weather quite strong winds.  Our cold, windy weather over the last week has stripped most trees of their colorful leaves, but not my ocotillos.  Tired of leaves, yet?  8^)
