Preston Bus Station

I was in Preston for a business meeting today. For an hour or so before that, I wandered around the City Centre, where I worked between 1978 and 1983, revisiting old haunts, walking, it seemed, amongst ghosts. Inevitably I was drawn to this building: Preston's massive bus station, possibly its most controversial building, as is explained here.

Some years after my time in Preston, I worked closely with one of the architects for this structure, Charles Wilson, for whom I had great respect. But I still can't decide whether I like it or loathe it. Which probably means I like it. It is what it is, in a very dramatic, late 1960s way.
