Walking in a winter wonderland
Another spectacular sunny winter day. Heavy frost this morning again and it almost looks like we've had snow. We walked down to Burgoyne Bay and the trees on the shore were beautifully frosted. There were some puddles that were iced over, and the extra is a glimpse through some of the ice in one.
Last night we went to a benefit concert to raise money for the Syrian refugees who are coming here, hopefully in the early spring - a family of five and a young single male. The usual strong support from Salt Springers, with a full house and all the acts donating their time. An incredible display of more of the talent on the island, and the only performers we'd heard before were Valdy, still sounding fantastic at 70, and a couple of the members of Duck Creak who accompanied a singer. The evening was hosted by Arthur Black and ended with a rousing version of Get Together (a suitable message in this song), with the audience joining in enthusiastically, followed by a standing ovation. Fantastic!
