When is a road not a road?

When it has become an extension of a lake. 

Heavy rain of biblical proportions has now been falling for the past 48 hours, and looks set to do so for at least the next 24. Lots of flooding and road closures across Northumberland and the North East. I was shocked to hear Killingworth Lake had burst it's banks, closing the road. However, I was shocked further when I saw how much it has flooded the road!! 

I have never been sent home from work because of rain and flooding before...now that is a first...

In other news, sending lots of love and hugs to Scotland today. It is my sister's birthday! :-D
