Bullfinch

We woke up to no water, due to a burst water main somewhere. Luckily the kettle was full so we could all have a cuppa before the day started.
David was off for an interview for an Internship at the Uni and I was out with Julie, Islemum, for a walk.
We went to Dingwall to the little park by Tesco in hope of seeing either the Kingfisher or the ringed bill gull. Unfortunately we did nt see either but did see a few mallards and some moorhen that scuttled off into the burn.
We went down to Ferry Point and even though it was raining we had an enjoyable walk along the 'canal'. Plenty of very friendly robins who cam so close we had to b careful not to tread on them. If only we had some food as I'm sure they would have landed on our hands.
We saw a couple of people who I've seen before filling up the feeders and laying down crumbs and fatballs for the birds.I wonder if they do it everyday and the birds seem to really enjoy their treat. Chaffinches, great tits, blue tits and dunnock all came down while we were there.
We continued our walk accompanied by the sound of Ross County FC out practising.
Some patches of the walk seemed more popular with the birds and as we reached the end several bullfinches ,males and females were busy feeding on the natural seeds. Not easy to photograph as they were surprisingly well camouflaged.
Up to the Mart for lunch and then home.
