Portraits

Ever since I had my afternoon out with Simon on Sunday, I've been busting to get my DSLR out and try taking some portraits of the kids using my newfound knowledge. I wasn't sure who'd be up for it but Dan proved to be game, even writing patiently while I attached the camera to the tripod to keep it steady for longer exposures. 

After a few minutes, though, he'd (understandably) had enough and went back to doing his homework. I had the longer lens attached to the camera, so once I thought I had the settings I wanted to try, I took this shot across the room, which actually turned out better than any of the others.
