Milford Sound

We were on one of the first boats out of the deep water harbour at the head of Milford Sound, but we still had time to watch as a floating Gin Palace (aka Cruise Liner) upped anchor and threaded it’s way down the fjord. It’s passengers enjoyed, no doubt, their three course breakfasts from their five star restaurants with their panoramic windows giving uninterrupted views of the fjord. We had complimentary BLTs in the cafeteria and thoroughly enjoyed them. 

Staggeringly beautiful, peaceful and unspoilt. It was sad to have to leave this fantastic place and I hope I may get a chance to see it again some day. If you enjoy beautiful paces it should be on your list. Be warned though, it is relatively remote.
