Blippers do it in the rain....

...and the hail... and the wind...

Keswick Blipmeet today for PaulaJ, HighPike, Cumbria here I come, Visions of Cumbria, Visions of Chloe, Spotoftime, Derwent Lass, two significant others and 3 four legged friends.  It started off quite well in the cold but as soon as Spotoftime (Ann) joined us and told us she was going to "Dip for Blip" things began to change.  In fact it got even colder, started to rain and eventually hail...

Now, Dip for Blip I thought might be something to do with dunking biscuits in hot chocolate but then Ann showed us her wetsuit.  We took a couple of group photos, which caused much amusement amongst fellow blippers as I had to keep moving further and further away as I am still trying out my macro lens (Not a good idea on the edge of a lake for a group shot...)  and s then the intrepid Dipper started taking off all the outer garments!  And then she strolled nonchalantly into the Lake and launched into a stylish front crawl.  What Blippers do!  Well done Ann!  If it hadn't been so cold I would have taken my hat off to you!

In this shot, you can see just how heavy the rain/hail was, how cold and wrapped up we were (Well posed, Trev) and how Ann was attempting to get warmed up and dry as quickly as possible.

After that excitement the rest of us continued to the nearly submerged Millennium Stone further round Derwent Water and had to paddle through quite a lot of water and mud to get there.

We later adjourned to Hope Cafe and some well earned Molly Cake which just happened to be in our rucksack (Thanks SHH for carrying it all morning).  The extra shows how the rain and hail came in from the end of Derwentwater and if you look at some of the other Blips of the day you can see how quickly the weather changed as all of the shots were taken within a very short time of one another.

Blippilicious Day.  Long may they continue.  This is what the future of Blipping might well look like:

Slightly eccentric, lovely, caring, fabulous people meeting to do things together and then telling other similar folk all about it...
