Harlech

The flags at Harlech Castle were flown at half mast to remember those killed in the Tunisia beach attack.

Major construction work was also under way to create a new drawbridge type entrance which meant we had to go searching for the temporary entrance and in our haste we walked past it and all the way to the bottom of VERY steep hill.  We eventually found it tucked away at the side of a portacabin (back at the top of the hill) and went in to explore.  It was a great castle but unfortunately the wee one amongst us was disinterested (at best) so it wasn't as indepth a look as we might have liked.

We placated him after we left with ice cream and a visit to an expansive beach which was great until his feet got wet and the sand stuck to them.  The photo here is him mid tantrum and refusing to walk another step until we got the sand off.  I can smile about it now but at the time it was both frustrating and mortifying!
