Cape Town from Table Mountain
On the last day of my sister in law's visit to South Africa, we took the cable car up Table Mountain. Although I grew up in Cape Town, I think I have only been up once, and that was at least 15 years ago. I was amazed at the number of people who were on top of the mountain, given the price of the tickets. Of course, for people earning dollars or Euros and especially pounds, it was probably very cheap. It was a glorious day though, I was scared that the infamous South Easter wind would blow and the cable car would be grounded, but Cape Town put up its best weather foot forward to make our Finnish visitor sad that she had to leave. On the picture on the left in the middle, one can see Robben Island, where Mandela was imprisoned for many years,
