Suburbs
I had to visit the area of Bulawayo called 'Suburbs' today - imagination obviously running wild when they came to choosing a name. It's a rather nice area with lovely wide tree lined streets, which must look amazing when the Jacaranda trees are in bloom. This is one of the tree lined streets, which looks more like it should be a country lane of some kind than a street minutes from the city centre. There are times, when this country does things very well.
Xandi and I were in town today for a patience testing day. It included a trip to the National Parks office to pay for lodges we have booked - this took 40 minutes of watching forms filled out in not in triplicate, but quadruple (no idea what the term should be). Almost impressive. This form had to be taken to someone else to write out another form only in duplicate - she must have felt inadequate to the quadruple lady.
The day also included a visit to the doctor, where I had to explain to the slightly grubby lady next to me that my baby didn't want to sit on her lap for a hug as he is a little anti-social. An out and out lie, and despite living with 6 dogs, on a farm, there are limits to 'testing his immune system'.
