Leaving Miami
OK ... be prepared for a rant here.
So, this morning, we were scheduled to depart from our hotel in Miami to our ship for our Big Adventure. In all the planning for this trip, I have been in close contact with our booking agent Angie for over a year. (She also booked us in for our amazing trip last year to Tahiti.) During all the telephone conversations with her all this time, she and I feel that we have become very good friends, and consequently, we decided to get together in Miami before our departure today. So, we arranged to meet for breakfast this morning.
That was when things went waaaaaay south. Angie met Richard and me in the lobby of the hotel, and then we proceeded to go to the breakfast put on for we cruise passengers in a meeting room at the hotel. Several other couples joined us at our table. Within minutes, two of the couples who joined us started to whinge about how "disgusting" the breakfast was ... the eggs were too cold ... there wasn't enough bacon ... the coffee was terrible ... yadeyadeyada ... when they found out that Angie worked for the cruise line, they proceeded to vent all their spoiled, ill-bred peeves on her -- as if it were her fault!!!!! I was absolutely horrified. Here was our lovely friend, who had come to wish us Bon Voyage on her own time, being raked over the coals by horrid, spoiled, rude people for something that wasn't anything to do with her! What an awful way to start the trip. I just was mortified that poor Angie became the focus of these ugly, crass people and their whinging whining. Ugh.
So. Here you have a picture of us leaving Miami behind .... sadly we have the horrid, rude, nasty people still with us, and we wave goodbye to lovely, sweet Angie who stays onshore.
