Miracle Mile
A horrid day weather-wise in Miami! Cloudy, rainy, and (for Floridians) freezing cold! It was fun to see the "natives" walking around all bundled up in down jackets, fuzzy sweaters, and hats and mufflers in the 65 degree "chill"!
We didn't do much -- wandered up and down Coral Gables' "Miracle Mile", had a very nice lunch, and took some photographs. The light was terrible for pictures, but we had a good time anyway.
Here are three images of the area in which we are staying. The first is a rather fine weather vane on the top of the Alhambra Towers building: "The west tower is adorned with a 12-foot tall working weather vane that is an exact replica of the original “Lady of Faith” weather vane atop the Giralda Tower in Seville, Spain." The second shows one of many fountains in the area, and the third shows the top of Coral Gables City Hall.
Tomorrow, at long last, we board our ship!
For those of you who would like to see more than one picture a day during our cruise, I'll be posting extras here.
