That's Ruby Island

It is all 'GO' in Wanaka on Saturday.  Firstly there is the 'swimrubyisland' competition, 'The Big Ruby race starts at 10 a.m., and will take about 1.5 hours to complete and is 3.8 k's long. There are 4 other races also being held, 'The Ruby', 'The Island', 'The Return of the Jetty', and 'Little Gems'. Let's hope for calm water, and a great morning of swimming.  I will be there (taking photos of course!)

I took this photo of Ruby Island through the branches of the 'Wanaka Willow', first thing this morning before the wind came up. 

 I have had a lovely day with little 'h'  starting with morning tea with my photography friends, then down the road to the Wanaka Berry Farm, where she did odd jobs for her Aunt who owns the berry farm.  After lunch we headed back to the swimming pool for another lesson, this time she did 2 lengths back stroke, then 2 lengths free style, and a practice session of breast stroke.   Last day of lessons tomorrow.

It is another very hot day +24C. with a cooling breeze.
