Today's the day ........................ when winter arrived

They told us that it would happen on the weather forecast last night.

And I'm sure that quite a few parts of the UK, especially on the east,  would have woken up this morning to a covering of snow.  Fortunately (because you know how much I hate the white stuff) we were fine here in Kendal itself.  This is the view though looking across a frosty Lyth Valley towards the Lakeland Fells.  They did look very impressive - and very white - from a safe distance. 

That's just the way I like my snow .......................
