Night Ferry
Not a great journey back from the Parliament tonight. All the trains from Edinburgh were held up by a signal fault and when eventually I got away it was on the slowest , most airless and most overcrowded train I have ever experienced.
Then in Glasgow the train to Gourock was cancelled just as I got to the platform. Eventually I got another one which left late and stopped at every station but despite that I just made it to a ferry which arrived half an hour before Cathleen expected me. So I had to walk the icy pavements of Dunoon until my lift arrived.
Five hours from door to door instead of the normal three or three and a bit. But this picture of the ferry about to leave to go back across the Clyde was worth stopping to take.
