Not Quite Desperation Blip

We met up for coffee this morning with our daughter and granddaughter and afterwards we all came back to ours for lunch and a play!

It was dark by the time they set off for home so I went out with Finaly for a brisk walk - by 'eck it was cold! I was glad of my new triple layer hat - it completely blocked the wind and so my head kept warm. Also tried out my new 'fishing' gloves - neoprene with foldback finger and thumb tips which are great for operating the camera in the cold! Hands were toasty warm too.

I was playing with the flash on my little Panny camera - and thought the catkins would be nice against a black background. The flash is not very powerful so it has only lit the foreground with the background almost pure black. You can see a few a few catkins in that have just caught a little light in the background. I had to light the subject with a torch to give the autofocus something to lock onto.
