Day 15: 8k Recovery

Target: 82.62
Actual: 102.62
Ahead of Target

First 100m of my 2016 challenge in the bag, Always a nice milestone to a nice round number. Next big one will be 1,000 :)

Couple of good training days. Had a rest day on Wednesday and then straight back on it yesterday with a double run. Early morning meet with my friends at the retail park. It had snowed overnight and the temperature was below zero so we decided to call it when we go there - if it was too slippy we'd do an easy run and try and hit the speed session we had planned down the track in the evening. As it was, the road had been cleared and we only had to worry about the corners being a bit icy. We all worked hard and nailed the workout.

Breakfast was a sandwich, banana and fruit scone with blackcurrant jam (I went straight to the coalface from my run)

In the PM I ran an easy paced 8k round about the industrial estate where my coalface is located. The council may not grit the side streets where people live but one thing for sure is, they always grit the industrial estates. Made some nice wee loops within one big loop. Loving the loops just now.

Today was recovery run. Was out in Stirling for my swim. My usual route was iced over so went for a run around the wee industrial estate opposite the sports center. I had seen the Gritter lorry out there and it was great - not traffic free but definitely ice free.

Breakfast was sushi and a banana at my desk (I had to stop off at Tesco for dog food leaving no time for breakfast at home).

Long run tomorrow - bring it on!
