A wee change of days this week. I'm off down the Lake District for a week next week so I'm going to do my long run on Friday which means I'm moving my hard runs to Monday and Wednesday to accommodate. I really don't fancy driving for 5 hours with a long run in my legs. Would rather get up early and do it before work. Will do the same the following week.
Long run day on Saturday saw us starting out in -5 degrees at Greenfaulds train station. The G man had planned the route and gotta say it was an excellent one. It took us round a big loop of back roads and eventually back to our starting point. We all turned auto lap off and concentrated on maintaining an overall average pace throughout the run instead of trying to hit splits. It was a hilly course so made sense.
Ended back at the car to a box of Krispie Kreme donuts (thanks Robert) and a can of Ginger Beer (had scrambled egg and toast when I got home, just in case you were wondering :))
Sunday was rest day. I half thought about getting up and going for a swim. Woke up at my usual 0400 and thought 'I'll just close my eyes for a minute'. Next thing I looked round and it was 0800. That's a mammoth 10 hour sleep. Must have needed it.
This morning was a session round the retail park. Met up at 0500 with our long run route planner Graham and we worked hard. Good to get the first session up on the board on a Monday, especially when it's a hard one.
Breakfast was a Curry Dave's chicken masala nan bread pizza. Not the healthiest option but I was hank marvin.
Last week's stats: Run - 49.09m, Swim - 4.8km, Cycle - 20.2m
Year has started off well, long may it continue :)
