Mr and Mrs Goosander

A dusting of snow overnight and a lovely cold, crisp, bright morning.  I drove over to the Wolseley WT centre where the water levels have now dropped low enough to be able to use the hide although the lower boardwalk is still under water.  No sign of the kingfisher today but plenty of action from birds coming to and from the feeders including robins, coal tits, bluetits, bullfinches and reed buntings.  Out on the lake there were plenty of canada geese and mallard and this lovely pair of goosander.  It looked to me as if the male was looking back and saying, "do keep up, dear".
