Les prunes

Plums are prunes in French. Prunes are pruneaux. Confusing eh?

This is a fraction of the juicy Golden Japan plums from the tree some pals gave me for my 50th birthday ten years ago. The tree has produced kilos of jam, enjoyed over the years by our B&B guests. We have the plums to ourselves now so I'm going to freeze lots of purée ready for a blast of summer during deepest winter.

I shall be very sad to leave the tree behind when we leave.
