We Are Taking Our Balancing Act To The Circus

Saw these starlings at the top of the tree this morning.  It seems impossible to me that they can balance right on the tip of the thinnest branches.  Why aren't the branches bending I wonder?  A bitterly cold day today, overnight snow still lying around, but the sun peeped through as I was taking the shot, so gave the starlings a glow.  Not so the extra photo of a blackbird in another tree.  I did not take it as a black and white shot, just no colour in the sky at all. Rather like the silhouette effect though.
