Thai Santa

We were surprised to find that our room included a free gala buffet on Christmas Eve. We felt a bit out of place surrounded by European package holiday families but we weren't complaining with the food which was fantastic. Fresh seafood cooked to order, roast lamb, Thai curries and yes you guessed it, turkey and cranberry sauce! The raffle lasted about half of the hour that we spent there as they gave away an endless supply of hotel t shirts. We couldn't stand it much longer so left and got a taxi to Lonely Beach, a nearby backpackers hub where we felt much more at home.
