Waterworks

The good thing about road works in the country lane through the village is that the road is much quieter . . . well, from through traffic.
Inevitably there is some disruption and noise from the work that is going on, but the lane itself is strangely devoid of through traffic and when you live by the road, makes country living much more peaceful.
Remember, there was similar disruption for two months last summer while the water supply company renewed a main water supply pipe through the village. It's the water company again this time, connecting the new main to individual houses along the road and the work is scheduled during all of January and February.
The water company say this is the final stages of the work, and really we cannot complain because we've experienced little disruption.
And there is the bonus of through traffic being discouraged.
