Skippers and a Tern

We arrived in Bradenton, Florida about 1:30 p.m., 1250 miles from home. It was 62F, and sunny.

They had some major storms pass through here last night, with 2 reported small tornados.

Today, there were high surf warnings, rip current warnings, and coastal flood advisories. Which meant, of course, that we had to go take a look.

The sea was mad, (but not angry), but it sure keeps the people off the beach.

You could tell that the shorebirds didn't care for the weather, either. They faced into the stiff breeze, and tried not to move very much.

See if you can spot the single tern.

In the extras are a snowy egret in both sun and shade, and another shot of the skimmers.
