What A Day

Today was the day the rain woke me too early as it drip, drip, dropped on the inside window ledge.

Today was the day when my girl passed her exam and became a Level One Gymnastics Coach and I hugged her to within an inch of her life.

Today was the day when we sat for far too long in the car returning excited gymnasts to their houses through a maze of road closed and flooded signs.

Today was the day my boy returned from Scout Camp, all smelling of camp fires and too many in a tent, and I hugged him to within an inch of his life.

Today was the day when I watched as rain didn't hault the Wimbledon Mens Doubles Final and we won. 1936 was the last time a Brit has achieved that. I would love to have hugged them to within an inch of their lives.

View from a car, stuck in a very long line of traffic with no sign of escape.
