Oh couldn't we all do with a bit of colour just now? I stepped out into the garden looking for some but all the flowers are hiding or are rotten and mouldy. The allotment is under water and I've changed to growing rice and watercress.

Yesterday, the pipe connecting the new (delivered on Friday) washing machine burst. There was a frantic Frank Spencer type rushing around trying to switch off the water whilst staring down into the spray that was flooding out. Later, dripping wet, I laughed loudly at the ridiciulous state we had got into.

Today I decided the persistence of wetness would not stop me. I shopped. It was a delight. I bought a pair of reading sunglasses. So this year, when I do get the chance to go somewhere that I am hoping will be warmer and brighter, I will be able to sit back, relax and read my books. Rain -nil - Me - 1!
