The "Golden Princess" glides past Devonport late this afternoon, on her way to Melbourne.

I read recently that "Explorer of the Seas" (which regularly comes into Auckland) produces 40,000 gallons of sewage, 450,000 gallons of grey water, 4,000 gallons of oily bilge water and 19 tonnes of solid waste per day. And the carbon footprint? OK, the Explorer is bigger than the Princess, but I'm sure the statistics are still mind-boggling. .
