Yellow Brain Fungus

Following yesterday's fungus this just had to be today's blip!

Set out on the bike in grey misty conditions wondering if I would see anything at all. Saw a flash of yellow and decided to back track to investigate.

I would welcome any confirmation of my research. I think it is Tremella Mesenteria which is often known as: Witches Butter, Yellow Brain Fungus, Golden Jelly Fungus or Yellow Trembler. If right it is edible but rather tasteless. However it is attracting interest regarding its medicinal properties.

The afternoon was spent helping my youngest son Thomas to purchase some clothes for the world of work. Suspect chauffeuring him to York was the major reason I was invited!
