Bramlings
There seemed to be much excitement about a pair of bramblings in the Turvey Nature Reserve.... I was more hoping for long eared owls so the bramblings threw them in front of me out of spite, seemingly knowing I wasn't bothered.
We met a birder who had been down every day for two weeks looking for them and had only spotted them the previous day. His excitement was palpable, which was nice.
My companion was experiencing the reserve for the first time and I think her experience was somewhat reserved!!!! Seeming wild birds don't accommodate noisy feet or quick movement. And I didn't carry a ladder or board to cross ditches!!!!!!..... An interesting conversation will ensue... Just saying
