Glenmalure

Went looking for some fallow deer and fox but only came across pheasant in a field. Having said that it was the first time I have seen seven birds calmly feed. I think a fox might have ruined the shot. The mist was very heavy and we did meet walkers coming down by the Carrawaystick waterfall as they were beginning to walk blind. Luckily they had the sense to descent. There were waterfalls on show due to the recent rains and the bridge covering the Avonbeg river was more a weir than a safe passage.

We passed a local funeral on a narrow road with cars parked for a kilometre each side of the graveyard.... Nothing quite as respectful as a country funeral. Having eventually managed to negotiate this we stopped for toasted ham and cheese sandwiches in the Glenmalure Inn. As usual, a short stop here is usually an interesting experience...... Thankfully Fluffikens and myself again got out of the mountains safely after a great day. Never underestimate the mountains.....just saying
