Broken Cable

We went to Cape Town today and when we came back we saw that our telephone cable (above ground) had broken and was hanging down in the garden. We called the telephone company, but of course they don't do any repairs after four o'clock. Then I thought that perhaps we could try connecting the ends together with electrical connectors. Funnily enough we managed to connect the wires and get a signal on our ADSL. To relieve the stress on the connectors we taped the whole thing to a branch. A little black packet can be seen in the middle of the photo. I just hope they come soon and put in a new cable. This one is rusted and poor.
