Carved cockerel

This lovely carved wooden cockerel (about 16 inches tall from base to tip of tail feathers) stands in the corner of my kitchen on my little chest freezer underneath a cockerel plate which hangs on the wall above. Both of them are treasured possessions that I picked up at my favourite place - Bourne Mill Antiques. Bourne Mill was badly affected by a serious fire about 3 months ago, so work is still ongoing to repair the top two floors and refurbish the rest of the building that was severely blighted by water damage.

I am always amazed at the work someone had to put in to carve this from a block of wood - it must have taken hours!

Sadly, still feeling poorly, so an indoors "emergency" Blip today.
